 April General Meeting

In accordance with Governor Inslee's Stay Home Stay Safe Order, we will be having our meetings virutally till further notice. We understand that there are some drawbacks to switching to this new medium, but this is currently our best idea on how to stay engaged during this busy election year.

Our current plan is to use the video confrencing website Zoom to conduct business, starting on April 15th with our April General Meeting at 6PM. If you have never tried Zoom this video tutorital may be helpful. Additionaly to help all of our members learn this program, as well as allow our commincations team a chance to try out our skills, we will be offering a pratice meeting on April 8th at 6PM. For anyone unable to make the first pratice session, additional help will be provided on April 12th at 2PM. Please follow the links below to register for each relevant event. Registration is a required step!

After following all the accounts above, we are also asking you to take a more active role in getting out the word to your peer group about our organization and goals on a continual basis. Currently this could include sharing the event for our April Meeting, but in general the more likes, shares, retweets something gets the more people will see that post. Call for Delegates

Currently the 31st LD has 2 candidates for the Joe Biden delegation, which means that we have a need for at least 10 additional delegate candidates for Biden to complete his predetermined delegate allotment. We also have 10 Bernie Sander's delegate postions to fill. All delegate vacancies need to be filled for the 31st to be represented during the reshaping of the state platform. If you would like to explore the process to become a delegate in more detail it is linked below.

How to Run for Delegate

Officer Vacancy: Call to Run for Secretary!

As announced in previous newsletters, the 31st District Democrats currently have 1 officer vacancy that must be filled, as it is quite important! This position continues to be important as we meet virtually; please consider running if you are able to contribute your time in this manner. All members in good standing are eligible to vote on applicants for this position. (see Article IV sec. 1A for a full description of voting requirements).

Please see below for a brief description of the duties performed by our secretary:

  • Assists the Chair in the preparation of agendas for the executive and general membership meetings
  • Produces minutes of the executive, general membership, and special meetings
  • Circulates and submits executive board, general membership and special meeting minutes for approval at the next appropriate meeting
  • Works with the Website/Technology Chair to ensure meeting information (agendas, minutes and correspondence) are posted on the website as appropriate and archived by either electronic or printed means

If you are interested in this position, or have any questions, please reach out to our Chair Brain Gunn.
