Dear Fellow Democrat,
Hope this newsletter finds you healthy and safe, ready to dive into the last 40 days of work before the election. Our next general meeting will be Wednesday, September 23rd on Zoom. The meeting will begin right at 7 PM with speakers and candidates up first and then our regular business. Don't forget to pre-register!!

We do hope you'll attend as our meeting is packed, as usual! This month our guest speakers will both be addressing issues that will be on your November ballot. Olga Laskin from Harborview Health for All will be going over the capital improvement bond that King County Voters will deciding on this fall to provide 20 years of funds for Harborview. Leah Griffin from Approve R-90 Safe and Healthy Youth WA will be speaking on Referendum 90. A state wide ballot measure to uphold the new Washington state law requiring all public schools to teach age-appropriate, inclusive, comprehensive sexual health education to K-12 students. Each organization has submitted a request for endorsement from the 31st, please check out their requests on our website. And come prepared with any questions!
In addition to our informative speakers, we have a full slate of candidates stopping by, including both Democratic challengers in the WA-10 race, Marilyn Strickland and Beth Doglio.  WA Secretary of State candidate, Gael Tarleton, will also be stopping. Rounding out the list of candidates giving campaign updates will be Katie Young and Thomas Clark.

Please see our website for a complete AGENDA. See you tomorrow!

Annual dues are $31 per calendar year, and are a significant portion of our operating budget. While our general meetings are open to all, only dues-paying members have voting privileges. Reduced dues are available in limited income situations that include, but aren’t limited to: veteran, senior and/or student status, with a minimum of $5 that ensures full rights and privileges.

While dues have historically made up the majority of our budget, we are stepping up our fight to make the 31st District a truly inclusive, equitable, and welcoming place to live. Please consider helping us achieve our goals by contributing today!
